And like magic… they arrived!

There’s been a noticeable increase in traffic to this blog in the past couple of months, with a number of people now “following” it.

Some of these people even appear to be *gasp* real!

I can only feel a little bit sorry for them at this stage, for there isn’t much to see here, though perhaps that’ll change over the next couple of weeks…

*Cue mist. Exit stage left*

There is much to like about Failure

It all started late one night in early April: my primary (then sole) HDD let go it’s mortal coil….

Long story, cut short; RMA’s my HDD to Seagate who very swiftly (approx. 1 week) replaced it, while buying a new HDD so I could start rebuilding my computer in the meantime. All went well, so I took advantage of a sale and doubled my RAM up to 8Gb. Things were alittle iffy after 3 weeks and I thought it was maybe the RAM or the need for a defrag after all the installing of software over the past few days but no, my new HDD – the one I bought to tide me over – died spectacularly. In essentially the exact same manner as the original.

But now that’s been replaced and I’m rather loathe to install everything on it again. Having 2 primary HDD failures inside a month made me a bit apathetic to installing various utilities and the smorgasbord of games that I frequent every week and I suspect my ISP is eyeing my bandwidth quite closely at the moment too.

So I decided to find some games that were relatively small in size to download and play, taking me on a gentle stroll down that country road of Nostalgia Gaming.

It turns out that such “classics” as Baldur’s Gate 2, Knights of the Old Republic 2, Star Wars Galaxies and Everquest 2 haven’t lost their charm over the years. SWG in particular, I’m having a great deal more fun with.

“Who woulda thunk it?!”

Mandatory preamble

January 8, 2011 Leave a comment

I don’t fancy writing a big preamble of who I am, where I’m coming from etc. I’m not terribly interested in impressing you with how amazing (or otherwise) I may be. I’ll just say I’ll mostly be blogging about things I take a particular interest in surrounding gaming and computing in general. This may be “wow, this is so awesome, take a look at this!” or things that really get my goat.

Either way, if I think it’s relevant I will discuss my previous experiences when on topic 🙂
